Milne Honors Girls Softball Team for Winning State Championship
EXTON – Rep. Duane Milne (R-Chester) presented Exton Little League’s 10-11 year old Girls All-Star Softball team players and coaches with citations from the House of Representatives in recognition of their winning their first ever state championship.
The citations were presented to the girls at a West Whiteland Supervisors’ Board meeting at the West Whiteland Township building on September 12, 2012.
The girls’ softball team was the first Exton Little League team ever to win the Pennsylvania State Tournament in Edinboro on August 1, 2012, by defeating Punxsutawney Groundhog Little League team by a score of 5-0.
The members of the team are (L to R): Lauren Lee, Kayla MacLaughlin, Casey McAllister, Lauren Young, Amelia Lark, Lizzie Francomano, Elizabeth D'Ascenzo, Annie Weyand, Julia Bennett, and Sam Gomez. Coaches are Will Gomez, Jeff Bennett, and Andy D'Ascenzo. Not pictured: Cameron Trotter.
